Information for Advertisers

Now over 50 years in publication, the Scottish Medical Journal (SMJ) is gaining the esteem it so rightly deserves. Recently, the Herald newspaper claimed it to be “the voice of Scottish Medicine”.

An integral learning tool for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, clinical trainees and other healthcare professionals, the Journal is a key reference for a wide range of clinical disciplines. Our readership includes; physicians, surgeons, specialists in travel medicine, and organisations involved in clinical and healthcare research.

Distributed nationally and internationally, the Journal reaches approximately 10,000 professionals.

As a peer review journal with a diverse readership, the SMJ commands respect from professionals and academics for its holistic approach to health and healthcare.

SMJ Advertising

It is the intention of the Journal to limit its advertising space thereby facilitating return on investment to advertisers through high visual impact and low space competition. The following advertising costs are for the 2010 subscription year.

Information for advertisers

Artwork should be supplied either on a CD or by email direct to Caryn Nicolson - caryn.nicolson@rcpsg.ac.uk and should be Apple Macintosh compatable.

Adverts should be supplied in one of the following graphics packages or as a high resolution pdf:

Please include all components and fonts used (screen & printer) in the folder. If you cannot supply the fonts then please convert text to paths or outlines.

Full colour adverts for reproduction on the cover should be supplied in CMYK, same size including bleeds, with photographs at 300dpi.

Black & white adverts (for reproduction on the pages) should be supplied in Greyscale, same size, with photographs at 240dpi.

Print area sizes -

Adverts must be supplied with a visual hard copy or pdf for verification.
